The property was purchased from the MNR in 1999 by current owners Larry, Jan and their son Mike French. The existing buildings remain intact with an incredible amount of hard work and commitment poured into establishing a new bench mark for a unique wilderness experience. With over 30 years of experience owning and operating French's group home, the French family is well accustomed to dealing with and delivering programming. Their son Mike has pursued a path of education and culture, but ultimately remained passionate about teaching in a wilderness environment. Larry and Mike chased a dream while Jan anchored the ship and continued the tradition of assisting children and families in need through the ongoing commitment to excellence that French’s Group Home has upheld for over 30 years. Spirit Point, although a distinct entity, builds off the reputation and the dedication to service which has been the main stay of the French family. After a decade of blood, sweat and tears we are excited to build upon new memories, which will carry through for generations to come.
