The Municipality of Powassan would like to notify its residents regarding some scheduled work on our storm and sanitary sewer systems. Wessuc Inc. will be conducting flushing and CCTV (closed-circuit television) inspections of the Municipality’s storm and sanitary sewer systems. This work is anticipated to start Monday September 28, 2020. The purpose of flushing our storm and sanitary sewers is to, remove any debris and build up from the inside of these pipes, reducing the likelihood of blockages or pugs in these systems. During flushing, residents may notice bubbling or vacuum effect in drains and toilets. If this does occur, keep your toilet lid down and or cover floor drains.

Since water will be flushed in and drawn out of the system, in some instances odor may be noticed coming from drains. If this should happen, run water in these drains, and the odor will dissipate.
