A gift that keeps on giving
Liz and Paul Brooks are delighted they could help the people of Powassan and the Lion's Club with a project that is definitely community-minded in so many ways.
Liz, raised in Powassan, was able to take advantage of the municipality’s amenities while growing up, as did her father, her own children, and grandchildren – enjoying the local parks, rinks, playgrounds, trails, pool, etc. “We were so active as kids, and because everything was close by, we were able to partake in activities by ourselves, in a safe environment” remembers Liz Brooks.
“Today, there is so much going on in Powassan, for every member of our town, that this digital sign will help community groups spread the word of events and happenings year-round.”
Paul Brooks, a member of the Powassan Lion's Club, agreed that the sign should be placed in Lion's Park, a venue sponsored by the club in the heart of the town.
Together with Lion’s Club member Peter Van Amelsfoort, and the assistance of Bernard Penney of PenneyandCompany, a digital sign utilizing the latest technology was purchased by the Brooks, installed at Lion's Park, and will be administered by the municipality for the good of the community.
“It’s a great investment” says Liz Brooks. “We are so pleased that we can give back to the community that gave our family and so many other families so much.”
This gift will work around the clock for years to come to promote activities and interests for young and old alike within the town of Powassan.
